A vehicle fire has forced the closure of the right lane of Highway 99 southbound between the Massey Tunnel and the first Delta exit, just as the evening commute has gotten underway.

Drive BC traffic cams show what appears to be a semi truck catching fire on the right side of the highway at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle was engulfed in flames, and first responders have extinguished the blaze, however the scene remains an active accident zone.
According to Drive BC, the counter flow and left lanes are currently open, however a look at other traffic cams in the area show significant backup southbound through Richmond, as well as on the Delta side.

Social media commentary from passers-by indicate the driver appears to be safe, though there has been no official word on his condition, or the cause of the fire.
