The Vancouver Art Gallery will no longer offer a "by donation" entrance to visitors.
The months of April and May will see a lot of changes at the popular art hub, from altered hours to a new subscription pass.
Starting in May, the Vancouver Art Gallery will be closed to the public on Tuesdays, a change that the gallery cites as a common practice for art galleries around the world to allow for maintenance.
Due to the weekly closures, the art gallery will also axe its "by donation" option, which is currently available Tuesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Instead, the art gallery will offer a monthly subscription pass which costs $5 per month (in addition to a $29 activation fee) and provides unlimited access to exhibits.
The monthly fee is the same amount as the minimum donation on Tuesday nights.
The final "by donation" night will be on April 25.
The Vancouver Art Gallery's schedule will also be altered in May. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except on Thursday and Friday, when the gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
