After nearly 15 years, the Marquis Grill has shut down.
Located at 2666 Granville St near the intersection with Broadway in Fairview, the bar and grill opened up in 2010. The restaurant offered a variety of pub-style food, like poutine, nachos, and wings, along with a more varied menu of broadly European dishes like spaghetti bolognese, Tuscan salmon, and chicken schnitzel.
However, it closed down this fall and is making way for a new restaurant due to open before October ends.
Signs are up for Curry N Grill, an East Indian bistro offering a wide variety of Indian dishes, from street food like different types of pav (Indian buns) or momo (a type of dumpling) to kebabs and tikkas to biryani. There will also be a handful of English pub foods, like fish and chips.
The new restaurant will also keep the bar aspect of the Marquis as well.
