James Browne and his 14 co-workers at Foy's Irish Bar in Vancouver won $1 million on the first-ever group lotto ticket they went in on.

One group of co-workers who won big on LottoMax won't have to look far for a place to celebrate.

A group of 15 staff members at Foy's Irish Bar have won $1 million on a group ticket for the Aug. 16 draw, according to the B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

The tickets, the first ones the group bought together, were coordinated by James Browne; he's the one who bought and checked the tickets as well.

“I scanned the first few tickets on my BCLC Lotto! App, and won $20,” said Browne in a BCLC press release. “The last ticket was the big winner. I walked down to Kingsgate Mall to double-check the ticket as I needed to make sure.”

Once he was certain he alerted the other winners via group text., to which he was met with disbelief.

Each winner receives about $66,666 of the winnings.

To celebrate the collective win, they had a party at Foy's. And they're planning a second one.

The winning ticket was bought at the Circle-K at Davie and Bidwell streets in the West End.
