The
Vancouver Creatives 2 Portfolio and Exhibition is coming! We're happy to report that the photographic production is now a wrap, with upcoming historical portraits from Marianne Amodio (Architecture), Christine Huynh & Ryan Boechler from Studio Bup (Industrial Design), Eryn Derksen (product design), Mike Seymour (Installation Art) and our contributor designer Kelly Turner! But today is all about a unique creative and community builder: meet
Matt Schroeter, Photographer & Designer.
Matt Schroeter was picked by our 11 jurors as the top talent in the Visual Arts industry! Make sure to mark your calendar on June 4th to come see his portrait as a genuine silver gelatin handprint at the Vancouver Creatives 2 Exhibition opening at Make Gallery at 257 E. 7th Ave (Main & 7th)!
Matt Schroeter is a designer and photographer, passionate about creating art that sparks positive social change. Starting out as a photojournalist, he has always been interested in telling the stories of people in his community. Since that experience, he has never lost his love for walking around and photographing cities and the people in them. He is usually designing interfaces for websites and apps, while keeping the connection to his community alive through art and photography projects. You can often find his design and photography work in the Gordon Neighbourhood House's activities and programs, where he also chairs on their Community Advisory Board. Some of his recent achievements include: Why I Love My Hood - a community art project, granted through the Vancouver Foundation's Neighbourhood Small Grants Program, SuperColony - a 365-day digital art project, featured at Thisopenspace Chinatown and the MakerLabs opening & Project Thankful - a social campaign/community art project focused in the DTES/Chinatown.
