After weeks of smoky skies, Environment Canada lifted the air quality advisory for the Lower Mainland over the weekend.
This week, Vancouverites will want to keep their umbrellas handy; the weather forecast calls for rain or showers every day.
Starting on Monday, Sept. 21, the forecast calls for mainly cloudy skies during the day and a high of 20°C. Following this, the nighttime forecast calls for a 60% chance of showers and an overnight low of 14°C. The showers will continue into Tuesday, and eventually become periods of rain in the evening.
The dreary weather is expected to continue into Wednesday, with the forecast calling for rain all day through Friday. Thursday and Friday are also expected to be the coolest days of the week, with daily highs of 15°C and lows of 13°C.
Rain is also expected during the day Saturday, but with a slightly warmer daytime temperature of 18°C. The evening forecast calls for a 60% chance of showers, which is expected to carry on into Sunday.

While August saw some soaring temperatures across the province, the Weather Network expects B.C. to see average or below-average temperatures heading into fall.
That said, the weather forecasting agency says that October and November will feature extended periods of mild fall weather and a delay in the arrival of consistent winter weather across most of the country. However, parts of northern B.C. and Alberta are at risk of tipping to the cold side of normal.
