The Memphis Grizzlies are bringing back the classic Vancouver jerseys.

It's been a few years since the name "Vancouver" has appeared on a jersey in an NBA game.

But the Vancouver Grizzlies of yore ("yore" being the late 90s) will see its jerseys return to the basketball court this fall. The team—now in Memphis, Tennessee—is turning 30 this season; it was founded in Vancouver in 1995.

As a throwback to its roots, a jersey designed to pay tribute to Vancouver will be worn on the court.

"The Grizzlies Classic Edition uniform pays tribute to the 30th anniversary season and birthplace of the franchise, Vancouver, Canada," indicates a press release from the team.

The white jerseys will feature the original logo, team name and colours, "plus the native Canadian Pacific Northwest pattern outlining the uniform, work together to form one of the more memorable uniforms in NBA history," reads the release.

The FedExForum court, where the team plays, will also get a redesign, with the colours and original Grizzly logo.

Five years ago the team similarly celebrated its history by bringing back the turquoise version of the jersey.

Fans will be able to buy some of the "Vancouver" emblazoned merch and other retro-style gear from the Memphis team's online store.
