Vancouver-Police-Station-1
Police are seeking witnesses to a collision in Kitsilano that resulted in the death of one pedestrian.

A collision in Kitsilano resulted in a fatality earlier this month.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) shares that around 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 19, the driver of a grey Mazda CZ-5 collided with a white Toyota Prius near Balsam Street and West 4th Avenue. Two pedestrians, a 53-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, who were standing on the southeast corner of the intersection, were struck.

Both pedestrians were taken to hospital. At the time of the incident, their injuries did not appear life-threatening.

After being admitted to hospital, the condition of the woman worsened and on Oct. 25 she died from her injuries.

The drivers and passengers in the vehicles were uninjured.

VPD's Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the incident and asks witnesses and drivers with dash-cam video footage to call 604-717-3012.
