The Vancouver Police Department is looking to identify a man who tried to attack a hotel concierge with a knife earlier this month.
On Oct. 8 a concierge working at a hotel on Robson Street confronted a man who had entered the parkade and was peering into cars according to a recent VPD release. The man pulled out a knife and allegedly threatened the hotel employee, before fleeing out to the street. A passerby saw the commotion and called the police, but the suspect fled before police arrived. Much of the confrontation was caught on security camera.
“This incident undoubtedly terrified the victim, who was only doing his job when the man pulled a knife and chased him,” says constable Tania Visintin, VPD. “We have not yet identified the suspect, so we’ve released this video with hopes that someone out there knows who he is.”
The suspect is a bald and clean-shaven man in his 30s. He was wearing a black jacket over an orange shirt, with black pants, and had multiple cuts and bruises.
