Vancouver police are seeking information after a semi-automatic rifle was found in some bushes in Stanley Park.

The gun was found near Lost Lagoon, according to a post on multiple social media platforms. Now the police want to find out who owned it.

"On March 18, a local resident found a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, and magazines in bushes," reads a post from the VPD on social media.

In a photo posted online, the firearm appears to be a T97-NSR. In December of 2024, the federal government announced additions to the list of prohibited assault-style firearms and included the EMEI T97-NSR in the update.

The VPD is now investigating how the semi-automatic rifle ended up in the park.

Anyone with information about the gun is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department at 604-717-3321.
