First they broke into cars, and then into the car owner's homes.

Vancouver police are warning the public to be careful what they leave in their cars following a series of vehicle break-ins in April 2024.

After a series of break-ins in Vancouver, police are warning about a pattern they've seen.

Officers investigating break-ins on the city's west side noticed a pattern this week, according to a social media post from the VPD.

"The crooks had first broken into vehicles parked nearby, stolen the garage door remotes, and then used the remotes to get into the homes," states the VPD.

The VPD are now warning people to not leave anything visible in their cars.

An investigation is ongoing into the break-ins.
