This is what a $700 rental looks like in Vancouver

It's cheaper than most other places in the city

For anyone looking to move to Vancouver after a certain nearby election, affordability could be an issue.

For example, rents in Vancouver remain high, and those looking for cheap options might not get much for their money.

Case in point: A  tiny space in a shared unit described in a Facebook Marketplace ad as a "cozy den-style private room," is renting for $700 a month.

Photos of the room and apartment show an objectively small room in a somewhat chaotic space.

Often the tiny rooms for rent in Vancouver are in the heart of the city's core, but this one is located in the south of the city; it's not far from the Marine Drive Skytrain Station in the Marpole neighbourhood.

"The room is in a shared suite with two other flatmates," reads the ad. "You’ll have access to a shared kitchen, bathroom, and in-suite washer and dryer."

It also plays up the convenience of the location, highlighting how close it is to retail businesses like a Superstore, London Drugs, and Starbucks.

"The location is ideal for students and professionals," reads the ad.
