Skateboarders were spotted across Vancouver, B.C., with videos shared of the group on Reddit and TikTok.

More than a few Vancouver locals were caught by surprise as hundreds of skateboarders rolled past on Tuesday.

It was part of Go Skate Day, an international event that encourages skateboarders to take to the streets in their cities. Among those participating in the June 21 event was Vancouver business Time Bomb Trading.

"It's been a few years and we can be more excited to do this with you all once again! It's a Vancouver tradition so come barge the city with us for our world re-known Go Skate Day Vancouver on June 21st," stated the company on its website.

As video and photos show, hundreds turned up in Vancouver (and many more in cities around the world); it was started in 2004 in New York City and grew from there.

In Vancouver, skaters took to a variety of areas around the city's core, including the Vancouver Art Gallery, areas near Waterfront Station and the skateboard plaza near BC Place.
