A group of Vancouverites have started a petition to turn the Burrard Street Bridge into the biggest pride rainbow ever.
And it’s not just a symbol of inclusiveness. The rainbow will be printed with thousands of supportive Vancouverites signatures that will be collected around Vancouver, as well as taken from a circulating petition.
It’s nice timing, bringing the positivity back to one of Vancouver’s oldest landmarks.
The rainbow is planned to be unveiled on July 30 to kick off the Vancouver Pride Weekend. Welcoming the more than half a million visitors expected for pride, and showing the world the support Vancouver has for the LGBTQ community.
If successful, it will be the largest pride rainbow ever constructed and could make its way into the Guinness Book of World Records.
If you want to get involved, sign the petition HERE. This could make Vancouver a little more colourful, and a lot more awesome.
