An image captured from space shows a breathtaking perspective of Metro Vancouver blanketed in snow.
On Thursday (Dec. 22), an astronaut shared the snowy image on Twitter, which was taken from the International Space Station (ISS) as it passed over the Lower Mainland.
"Beautiful winter view of Vancouver from the ISS when we flew over the city a few hours ago," wrote Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Wakata Koichi.
NASA recently shared a festive video of Koichi and three of its astronauts sharing their favourite holiday memories while on board the satellite.

Metro Vancouver weather forecast in December 2022
While snow hasn't fallen in a couple of days, the bone-chilling temperatures produced by the Arctic outflow have kept most of the snowfall frozen in place.
More snowfall is also expected to begin falling overnight Thursday, with total amounts of 10 cm to 20 cm expected in Metro Vancouver. A winter storm watch is also in place, warning travellers about hazardous driving conditions.
