Metro Vancouverites won't face any snowfall on their Tuesday (Dec. 6) evening commutes home — but they may see more of the white stuff on the weekend.
Environment Canada ended its special weather statement Tuesday morning, which had called for the potential of light snow and patchy freezing drizzle on early commutes.
As temperatures aren't expected to fall near freezing overnight Tuesday, the forecast includes periods of rain or drizzle rather than snow or flurries. This slightly milder, wetter pattern is expected to continue through Wednesday and into Thursday, with daily highs ranging between 5 C and 7 C and overnight lows dipping down to 3 C.
Temperatures are expected to cool down heading into the weekend, however.
Friday night is expected to see an overnight low of 1 C with cloudy skies. Saturday may get even chillier, as the forecast includes a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day but a chance of flurries overnight as temperatures dip below freezing.
The frigid pattern is expected to carry through Sunday, with a low of -2 C and flurries forecasted overnight.

The Weather Network and Environment Canada call for below-average temperatures to kick off the winter season in Metro Vancouver following the snowiest November in over a decade.
Prior to the start of meteorological winter, there were a variety of temperatures throughout the fall, and taking an average temperature for the 90 days doesn't tell the complete story.
Instead, a closer look at the fall season in Vancouver shows that it was "volatile" and a "season of extremes," according to a new report.
