A pedestrian was knocked over by a taxi as she crossed No. 3 Road on Monday afternoon

A video doing the rounds on social media shows a pedestrian being knocked down in a crosswalk by a taxi in the centre of Richmond.

The dashcam footage shows what appears to be a woman walking across No. 3 Road at around 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

In the video, posted to Reddit, the female pedestrian is walking west across No. 3 Road, at Cook Road, towards Richmond Centre as other pedestrians head east.

As she does, a taxi turns right out of Cook onto No. 3 and appears to hit her in from the side, about halfway up her body.

However, she manages to get up and moves around, as the driver tries to pick up her scattered belongings.

The driver who posted the video online said they wanted to get in touch with the pedestrian in case some evidence was needed.

The Richmond News reached out to the RCMP and the BC Ambulance Service, but neither had any record of the incident being reported.
