A violent encounter Tuesday night (Oct. 11) on the city's west side left two Vancouver teens hospitalized.
Vancouver police believe the incident started when one youth accused the other of stealing a vape pen.
Several witnesses reported seeing two people fighting near a bus stop at Dunbar and West 41 Avenue around 8:30 p.m., according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
When police officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old bleeding profusely with a number of life-threatening injuries including multiple stab wounds. The victim required surgery and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The teen is expected to survive.
Police later located an 18-year-old suspect in East Vancouver who also required hospitalization but whose injuries are not life-threatening.
The VPD is currently investigating and asks anyone who witnessed the incident to call its Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
