The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is warning the community about a new resident moving to the city.
Skylar Wayne Pelletier will be residing in Vancouver, according to a release from the VPD, and poses a risk of significant harm to women here.
"Pelletier, 24, is currently serving a five-year long-term supervision order for convictions of sexual assault, assault, and break and enter," state police.
He's described as 6'2" with a heavy build, short black hair and brown eyes. He has several conditions he must comply with while living in Vancouver. If anyone witnesses him breaking one, they're asked to call 911.
The conditions Pelletier must abide by are the following, according to the VPD:
- he cannot consume, purchase or possess alcohol;
- he cannot consume, purchase or possess drugs other than prescribed medication;
- he cannot associate with the victim or members of the victim’s family;
- he must report all contacts with females to his parole supervisor;
- he must reside at a Community Correctional Centre or a Community Residential Facility, or other residential facility;
- he will have a 6 p.m. curfew;
- he cannot go to Salish Park, Chilliwack;
- he must take all medication as directed by a health care practitioner
The VPD has warned about Pelletier in the past; in 2021 they issued a similar public notice.
The new notice was issued as he was re-arrested and has been in custody, but is now being released into the community again.
Pelletier was found guilty of an incident in 2016 when he broke into a second-storey bedroom in Vancouver in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted a 48-year-old woman. While in the Burnaby Youth Custody Services Centre he was involved with 130 incidents ranging from immature posturing to public masturbation.
