A Vancouver local managed to capture the exact moment an electrical explosion broke out in an alleyway off Hastings Saturday night.
"We got called on Saturday, May 20, at 11:42 p.m. for a report of a fire in an alley," confirms Matthew Trudeau, Captain of Public Information. "Crews arrived to a hydro pole in the alley behind 138 E Hastings Street on fire."
The electrical lines were down according to Trudeau which made the situation challenging for firefighters.
In the video, the electrical lines can be seen sparking and the flames lick up the side of a building's fire escape. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it was able to extend to the adjoining buildings.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, says Trudeau.
