We warned you that some stormy weather was possible in Vancouver this week — and the forecast was spot on.
On Thursday (April 21), Vancouver Is Awesome noted that Environment Canada was calling for a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon and heading into the evening.
Around sunset, a powerful thunderstorm dazzled downtown Vancouver skies with electric light. When it occurred, a vibrant sunset had already transformed the skyline with warm pink and purple hues.
Mark Atomos Pilon was riding his bicycle when he stopped to shoot some videos of the "unexpected light show" near English Bay.
While he stuck around for a while, the Vancouver resident commented on Twitter that "there was a moment when I hightailed it out of there since I was on a rolling lighting rod."

Other locals also shared footage of the lightning in Vancouver skies.
