A West Vancouver woman has been confirmed as the eighth North Shore resident to die in the crash of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 in Iran last week.

Soheila Massoumeh Moshref Razavi Moghaddam, 55, was on the flight, along with seven other people from North Vancouver, when it was shot down with a missile by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in what the country’s government has described as a “disastrous mistake.”

A total of 57 Canadians – most of them with dual Canadian and Iranian citizenship – died in the disaster, which killed all 176 people on board.

A passenger list with the names of those who died in the crash has been released by the airline.

Moghaddam lived in West Vancouver and worked at the Lions Gate Travelodge in North Vancouver.

Friends and co-workers declined to comment, saying the West Vancouver woman’s family, including three adult children, had requested privacy.
