Alpine enthusiasts, rejoice!

Whistler Blackcomb is set to officially open this week, and the ski resort has extended sales of its season passes through the weekend.

Back in September, the popular ski resort announced that snow had already started to fall on 7th heaven. It tweeted an image of the early snowfall, but there wasn't a great deal of it on the ground. In contrast, today's Whistler Cam shows a wintry wonderland, complete 14 cm of snowfall.

As a result, skiers and snowboarders will be able to hit the slopes Thursday, Nov. 28. Whistler Blackcomb, Blackcomb Mountain, the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondala, and the Creekside gondola are all set to open on the same day. The last day for Whistler Mountain is set for May 25, 2020, and the others close April 19, 2020.

A ridge of high pressure will push dry arctic air from the northeast across the B.C. interior and Whistler over the next days. Sunshine and colder conditions are expected as ridge top winds become moderate northeasterly.
