A video of a driver taking an outlandish detour over a popular Metro Vancouver pier has raised eyebrows on social media.
On Monday (July 18), a Surrey resident tweeted that he saw someone driving a Mustang onto the White Rock beach pier at night.
Another local shared a video on Twitter of the vehicle moving up the waterfront promenade that shows the driver stopping and starting the car on the structure.

Surrey RCMP Sgt. Kale Pauls told Vancouver Is Awesome that the detachment is investigating the incident.
"Based on the video seen on social media of a car driving on the White Rock pier, we have opened an investigation to identify the driver, why they were there, and when this occurred," he said.
"To make it clear, the pier [is] not a roadway and depending on the circumstances, driving on this pedestrian walkway could be a criminal offence."
Anyone with information is asked to call the White Rock RCMP non-emergency number at 778-545-4800.
