B.C. has a new millionaire, but who that is remains to be seen.
Someone won $1 million from Lotto 6/49's White Ball jackpot last Wednesday, Jan. 29, after purchasing a ticket on PlayNow.com.
It's not known yet if someone has come forward to claim the seven-figure secondary prize. The name and B.C. community of residency may be released at a later date.
BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) lists the winner as "PlayNow.com," meaning they purchased the tickets online.
"All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize," BCLC has previously stated.
"The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners' name(s) will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize."
The Lotto 6/49 ticket correctly matched the drawn White Ball number (see image two in gallery): 16091145-01
No one took home the $26-million Gold prize from the 22 balls placed in the Jan. 29 jackpot.
Two other winners from January
Meanwhile, a pair of B.C. lottery players each won five-figure paydays by also buying tickets online.
They earned exact totals of $84,691.40 from the Lotto 6/49 Classic Prize as well as $75,000 from BC/49 — both on Saturday, Jan. 18.
The Lotto 6/49 ticket matched five of the six drawn numbers (see image three in gallery): 08, 13, 16, 18, 31, 43 and 01 (bonus)
The lucky winner's total is also half of a bigger loot as someone in Québec also correctly picked at least five numbers.
The BC/49 ticket also matched five of its six numbers and is keeping the $75,000 (see image four in gallery): 01, 14, 36, 40, 41, 47 and 26 (bonus)
