Howden, Hoffos medal for Canada in World Cup ski cross

GUDAURI — Canada picked up two medals in World Cup ski cross action in Georgia on Saturday. Reece Howden of Cultus Lake, B.C., claimed gold in the men's event. Germany's Florian Wilmsmann earned silver, while Italy's Simone Deromedis took bronze.

GUDAURI — Canada picked up two medals in World Cup ski cross action in Georgia on Saturday.

Reece Howden of Cultus Lake, B.C., claimed gold in the men's event.

Germany's Florian Wilmsmann earned silver, while Italy's Simone Deromedis took bronze.

The win is a rebounding effort for Howden who was coming off a 17th-place finish on Friday.

Courtney Hoffos of Invermere, B.C., grabbed bronze in the women's event.

Italy's Jole Galli topped the podium, while Switzerland's Fanny Smith took silver.
