14-year-old charged in murder case northwest of Yellowknife

FORT GOOD HOPE, N.W.T. — RCMP say a 14-year-old has been charged in the death of a woman in the Northwest Territories.

Mounties responded to a house in the hamlet of Fort Good Hope, a community two-and-a-half hours by plane from Yellowknife, on Sunday morning for a reported stabbing.

Police say they found a female victim with serious injuries.

She was taken to a nearby health centre, where RCMP say she died shortly after.

Mounties say the teenage suspect has been charged with murder.

She will appear in court Tuesday.
