If life in the big city is starting to wear you out, this property on the market in B.C. could be an option.
A "luxury resort" in the wilderness of central Vancouver Island is for sale for $4.75 million.
While in Vancouver that might buy a "fuctional" house in Point Grey or a fairly large house in Kitsilano, on the Island's Forbidden Plateau near Cumberland it'll get you a beautiful 12-bedroom resort, a three-storey caretaker house, and 14 acres of land with views stretching across the Comox Valley to the mountains on the mainland.
The resort is currently being operated as a mental health and addiction treatment retreat by the Healing Institute but has been on the market since the beginning of 2024.
The main resort is of post-and-beam construction, showing off the lumber and the lodge's interior.
Among its specific features are a grand hall with a large stone fireplace, a large kitchen, and additional multipurpose rooms.
"The hot tub with sweeping mountain views is the perfect way to relax," reads the real estate listing. "This property has great potential to be run as a world-renowned retreat that can host various groups."
Nomina, the company that owns the site and institute, notes on LinkedIn it is restructuring, hence the sale.
