While Vancouver's housing market is hot, it seems not all houses are selling quickly.
A luxury home in Vancouver's Shaughnessy neighbourhood has just been relisted for $17 million. While that's a large sum of money, it's less than half of what it was listed for in 2017, when it hit the market for $34.8 million.
At the time, it was one of the most expensive homes listed in Canada.
It was relisted in 2022 for $24.88 million, but after a couple of years, another discount seems to have been in order.
Now its listed price of $17 million is less than its assessed value by the province of $17.32 million.
REW records show the property last sold in 2013 for $4.5 million; the house that currently stands there was built sometime around 2014 (according to BC Assessment) or 2017 (according to the listing).
The house sits on more than a half-acre of land at 1126 Wolfe Ave in Shaughnessy. Inspired by European estates, the home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and seven fireplaces.
There's also a wine cellar, an outdoor kitchenette area, and an outdoor pool.
