Someone is offering a 'unique opportunity' to live in Vancouver...in their RV trailer

Would you live in an RV trailer for a year?

The search for an affordable home in Vancouver often means roommates, but what if you wanted a private space?

One potential landlord is offering up a 'unique opportunity' to live alone (or with one other person). An RV trailer parked on the side of their house.

"I have a beautiful private mobile home RV which I am considering renting to maximum 2 people," reads a new Craigslist ad, noting no pets are allowed.

"This would be perfect to enjoy whole place (sic) and privacy to yourself or a roommate to save rent," they add.

That privacy runs $1,400 a month.

The RV trailer, which works like a bachelor pad (that is to say, it's all one room except the bathroom) includes a bed (which folds down over the couch) and a dinette that can turn into a bed. There's also a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, microwave and stove.

The offering isn't for a short period, either. The RV lord is looking for a one-year lease.

"This is a rare opportunity to independent living close to UBC, Langara, and VGH children's hospital," they write, noting it's near the intersection of West 41 Avenue and Granville Street.

It seems non-building based homes are a growing trend in the rental market, as this place follows another unusual offering.

Vancouver Is Awesome has asked the City of Vancouver about this rental unit and will update once more information is provided.

Correction—Initially the trailer was misidentified as a fifth wheel. This story has been corrected, as it isn't.
