If you are going to run a car raffle, you can’t go wrong in offering up an automatic 1969 Barracuda convertible.
And that’s what the winner of the third annual Habitat for Humanity Kamloops Classic Car Raffle will be driving away in when the winner is announced this December!
“We will always put a 1960s convertible up for grabs, because there is no better decade for those kinds of cars,” says Bill Miller, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Kamloops. “It just stands us out from everything else.”
In total, there have been 31,987 Barracudas built in the world, 1445 of which are convertibles, and 735 of which are automatic, making this year’s grand prize a truly unique draw.
In previous years, the organization had received its prize vehicle from Tappen, B.C.’s Rust Bros Restorations, which is featured in the reality television series Rust Valley Restorers, but this year’s ride was provided by a private donor.
The Rust Bros are back again to conduct the refurbishing work on the 1969 Barracuda, which has a Metallic Blue exterior, a Baltic Blue Metallic interior, a white convertible soft top, and an automatic light weight transmission, boasting a 318 engine motor with 4 barrel carburetor, and 230 HP
The refurbished classic vehicle is estimated to be valued at $60,750.
The Habitat for Humanity Kamloops 2021 Classic Car Raffle tickets are $25 per ticket, with up to 50,000 raffle tickets up for grabs!
The annual raffle fundraiser is in support of Habitat for Humanity Kamloops. The non-profit housing organization serves Kamloops and communities in the Thompson-Nicola, Columbia-Shuswap, Cariboo and Fraser-Fort George regions of B.C. to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing, and to mobilize communities to help working, lower-income families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through attainable homeownership.
Proceeds from the raffle will help to cover the Habitat for Humanity Kamloops’ operating costs, and also provide the society with capital for resources and capacity building for housing development projects throughout their areas of service.
Habitat for Humanity Kamloops would like to thank the generous sponsors of their 2021 Classic Car Raffle: Rust Bros, Ian Gray's Salmon Arm GM, Eagle Homes, Brushstrokes Signs, Hagerty, Braby Motors, Lordco Auto Parts, HUB, LNGRoup, Swan Lake Motors, Kamloops Insurance, KalTire, BlueGreen Architecture Inc., CFJC TV, Home Hardware, Prima Contracting, and Ukrainetz Workplace Law Group.
