The BC Women’s Health Foundation is launching a new fundraising initiative.

Starting Nov. 16, B.C. residents can buy tickets online for the foundation’s 50/50 draw up until the closing date of Dec. 18.

One winner will take home half of the total jackpot. The more tickets sold, the bigger the take-home prize is for that lucky winner.

The fundraiser’s proceeds will go towards the foundation’s efforts to advance women’s health in all areas.

“While no one is untouched by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the lasting effects will disproportionately affect women,” says Genesa M. Greening, President and CEO of BC Women’s Health Foundation.

“Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will help support the work of the foundation in areas such as investing in women’s health research to advocate for recovery policies that support women and ensure that we do not lose decades of gender equity advancements.”

This is the first time the organization is holding a 50/50 draw. With a fundraising goal of $500,000, the BC Women’s Health Foundation hopes the contest will inspire residents to support a good cause while entering for a chance to win.

The organization is B.C.’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the full spectrum of women’s health, ensuring women have equitable access to the highest quality healthcare when, where, and how they need it.

BC Women’s Health Foundation has four focus areas: capital and equipment, research and innovation, education and awareness, and advocacy.

The Foundation invests in facilities, equipment and programs at BC Women’s Hospital, funds solutions-focused research and innovation, facilitates discussion to help women navigate the healthcare system and act as self-advocates, and encourages government and stakeholders to invest in equitable healthcare and research.
