Just in time for the changing of the seasons, the Vancouver Aquarium is entering into a realm of autumn enchantment with a kaleidoscope of fall colours.
‘Sea’ ocean life in a whole new way with the return of Fin-tastic Fall Days from October 1-31. Together with your family or friends, you can explore the colourful depths of the deep blue, brought to life by the aquarium’s 65,000 incredible aquatic animals and their equally colourful habitats. Plus, on the final days of Fin-tastic Fall, you can watch in awe as underwater pumpkin carvers create intricate aquatic jack-o-lanterns illuminated by a backdrop of vibrant sea animals.
Keeping with the fall colours theme, the aquarium will be decked out with gourd-geous seasonal decor, setting the scene for your next family portrait. They’re also serving up comforting and festive foods from their seasonal menu, like their signature sustainable seafood chowder and crave-worthy pumpkin-shaped cookies.
There are a number of family-friendly activities to dive right into during Fin-tastic Fall Days at the Vancouver Aquarium. For one, you can navigate your way through a kelp forest in the Deep Sea Maze for an adventure that’s fit for adults and children alike. Want to get up close and personal with the aquarium’s most mysterious sea creatures? Roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with the creepy, crawly critters in the Spooky Wet Lab, where you can engage with your senses while interacting with various aquatic species.
Immerse yourself in an exclusive underwater 4-D experience with the Octopus: Blue Planet II movie, which will be screening at the Vancouver Aquarium’s theatre only until October 31.
Octopus takes audiences on a deep dive beneath the surface to explore the planet’s oceans and come face to face with one of the ocean’s most captivating creatures. During the film, you’ll discover how this eight-tentacled wonder uses its physical and mental strengths to outwit and escape its underwater rivals, as well as encounter the octopus’ extraordinary behaviours and the ocean’s dynamic landscapes throughout this special effects experience.
