The pandemic has put a stop to many things, but home renovations is not one of them. In fact, throughout the past year, homeowners in Vancouver have been active in their goals to refresh and improve their current living spaces.
To provide homeowners with a little inspiration, the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) is hosting the 27th Annual Parade of Homes — virtually — from June 5th to June 13th.
This online event will give homeowners a unique opportunity to connect with the home renovation professionals who can help build their dreams into reality.
Virtual attendees can view award-winning homes, see the latest design trends, catch Pop-Up Talks on trending topics (such as futureproofing your home design and renovations for multi-generational living), and interact directly with professional builders, renovators, and designers through live video chat — and all from the comfort and convenience of their home.
“Finding the right team for you, with the qualifications for your project is critical and often one of the biggest hurdles faced by homeowners,” says Ron Rapp, CEO of HAVAN. “Before tackling a home improvement project, I encourage people to take this opportunity to tour the Parade and connect with the experienced home professionals,”
As Rapp adds, “It’s an opportunity to get inspired, but also to source the right professionals to help you plan your project and protect one of your biggest investments — your home.”
After the cancellation of last year’s event due to the onset of COVID-19, HAVAN is geared up to present the first virtual Parade of Homes, with homes by Falcon Homes, Kemp Construction Management Ltd., My House Design Build Team Ltd., Roadhouse Homes Ltd., Sarah Gallop Design Inc., Shakespeare Homes & Renovations Ltd., Best Builders, Clay Construction, and Versa Homes.
This year’s selections feature new condos, townhome and character home renovations, a modern farmhouse, a custom-built home with central open courtyard, a traditional 10,000 sf castle on the hill, and a sleek modern beachside high-performance home. Many of the homes have recently been recognized at the HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence in April.
“With home shows, builder open houses and in-person parades on hold, the virtual Parade of Homes will help bridge the gap,” remarks Rapp.
