B.C. Lions challenge our Canadian celebrity loyalty with faux fantasy draft

Who knew the Lions could be so exciting?

No games, no practices, no problem: Sports teams are having a field day keeping fans entertained online.

The B.C. Lions have managed to generate some buzz on Twitter by asking which three Canadian celebrities from a set of nine we'd choose to "draft" to the team.

The choices represent a broad swath of Canadian pop culture, and not all have B.C. roots. There's Shania Twain, The Weeknd, Keanu Reeves, Brendan Fraser, Pamela Anderson, Ryan Reynolds, Nickelback, Seth Rogen, and Rachel McAdams. And all but Nickelback are dressed - thanks to photoshop - in Lions jerseys.

Of course, some of the stars in the draft pool have responded to the tweet, including Vancouver's own Ryan Reynolds and Seth Rogen.

Reynolds had a very Vancouver-centric response, asking if he could include veteran Lions player Lui Passaglia, who played with the team for a record span, from 1976 to 2000. Passaglia definitely hit some career high notes during Reynolds' youth in Vancouver, and the choice of teammate struck a chord with Rogen, too.

Good news for Reynolds and Rogen, though, as the two, along with Reeves, are one of the most often-chosen set (3,6,8) based on the tweeted replies, which now number well over 3,000. Lots of love, too, for Torontonian McAdams.

A lot of the reasoning centres on what each would-be player could bring to the field, or, in some cases, party; Reynolds, the gin, Rogen, the weed. For example:

So who would be your picks?
