Air Canada offering free beer, wine, and premium snacks in economy on North American flights

Before the announcement, only customers flying internationally or in Premium cabins got complimentary beer and wine.

Air Canada will now offer all guests complimentary wine, beer, and premium snacks on domestic and transborder routes.

Canada's largest airline is introducing new premium complimentary snacks, including Twigz pretzels and Quebec-based Leclerc's Célébration Cookie on all of its flights (see slide three).

The carrier is also expanding its complimentary beer and wine offering to include flights within Canada and the U.S., alongside a selection of $5 spirits, through the end of the year, according to a news release.

Before the announcement, only customers flying internationally or in Premium cabins got complimentary beer and wine.

Air Canada flights from Vancouver will include beer, wine, and a new snack selection

Customers can choose between craft beers like Hop Valley and Creemore Springs Premium Lager, as well as familiar major brands like Molson Canadian and Coors Light (see slide two).

Air Canada will offer wine from France's Paul Mas, pouring one red and one white.

"We're thrilled to continue elevating the Economy travel experience in North America, and we're proud to spotlight Canadian brands with this thoughtfully curated lineup of complimentary snacks and beverages, in time for your summer travels," said Scott O'Leary, Vice President, Loyalty & Product at Air Canada. "This builds on our recent industry-leading food and beverage upgrade to make travel better for all customers, including 100+ new rotating seasonal recipes."

Passengers can pay $5 for spirits including Baileys Original Irish Cream, Canadian Club rye, Bacardi Superior rum, Bombay Sapphire gin, Smirnoff vodka, Tromba Tequila Blanco, or Campari (see slide four).

Customers can purchase beer, wine, and spirits from the Air Canada Bistro menu on Economy flights to and from the Caribbean and Mexico.

Air Canada says its "refreshed" Bistro menu has North America's most extensive selection of fresh buy-on-board options. It is also the only North American airline to offer hot, fresh kids' meals to purchase through its North American Bistro program.
