Fly round-trip Vancouver to Las Vegas with 3 nights hotel for only $412

A five-star, luxury accommodation is also affordable.

Locals looking to get away on the cheap can take advantage of an ultra-low-cost option, including flights from Vancouver and accommodation in the "City of Sin."

Low-cost carrier Sunwing offers a handful of Las Vegas packages for just over $400 including all taxes and fees. The packages include round-trip, direct flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and three nights of accommodation in three- or four-star hotels.

The charter carrier has several options including hotel and flights throughout the fall but only a few date combinations cost under $500 with taxes and fees.

Three-night trips departing on Nov.11 are the cheapest options available. For example, a trip departing Vancouver on Nov. 11 and returning on Nov. 14 with accommodation at The Strat Hotel, Casino and Tower costs $412 with direct flights (see slide two). This property is considered a three-and-a-half-star accommodation.

Similarly, a trip on the same dates at the Flamingo Las Vegas costs $425, while The Linq Hotel and Experience only costs a dollar more ($426). These resorts have four-star ratings (see slide two).

Vancouver to Las Vegas packages with luxury accommodation for under $800

Travellers looking for a more posh experience in Nevada's entertainment mecca won't have to break the bank during the low-cost travel window.

The Aria Resort and Casino costs $790 including taxes and fees on the same dates and is considered one of the top places to stay. The five-star accommodation is one of MGM Resorts' luxury hotels on the Las Vegas strip and features some of the best views in the city (see slide three).

The Vegas Monorail will also provide transportation between major casinos along the strip. If you are staying somewhere connected to it, you'll enjoy expedited service to hot spots without the struggle of hailing a cab (or the hefty price tag). The trains come quickly — every four to eight minutes — and typically run quite late. However, there isn't service past 3 a.m., even on Fridays and Saturdays, so be mindful of time or plan for an alternative way of getting home.

Travellers should also make reservations for meals at popular restaurants, such as Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen, well before their trips. Similarly, tickets for shows at The Sphere should also be booked in advance.
