Flights to Paris, France from Vancouver have dropped to their lowest price so far this year.
Prices to the "City of Lights" can topple well over $1,000 for a return ticket, particularly during peak season for travel to Europe (generally from late May through the beginning of September).
Vancouverites can typically expect to pay anywhere from $1,350 to $2,100 for a round-trip ticket to the French capital, according to Google Flights.
Paris is also popular over the holidays, with tourists flocking to the romantic city to watch its glimmering lights twinkle on crisp cold nights. Before that happens, however, the "shoulder season" -- roughly October through November -- offers some of the lowest prices on tickets to the destination.
Currently, flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) cost roughly half the price of an average ticket, with prices in October for a one-way trip starting at just over $250 including tax.
Use the travel calendar on Skyscanner to see the cheapest prices available. Right now, there are multiple dates showing one-way, WestJet flights for only $264 on booking platforms like BudgetAir.com.
A return flight will cost roughly $700 to $750 including all taxes and fees since the return flight from Paris costs slightly more. Depending on when you travel, however, you might want to book two separate one-way tickets as it may work out cheaper (particularly if you plan on staying a long time).
If you plan on travelling in October, a round-trip ticket booked together will be the cheapest option.
