Canada's largest airlines are offering discounts on Vancouver flights as part of their Valentine's Day sales.
Whether you are looking for a domestic flight to steal kisses with your East Coast cutie or you want to fly to Mexico in a grand romantic gesture, there is a discount available for you (until about October or so).
If you aren't planning on celebrating the Hallmark Holiday on Feb. 14, you can also just use the occasion to save on a flight for a solo trip or one with family or friends.
Here are all the best deals from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in 2024 available via current Valentine's Day airfare sales from Canadian carriers.
Air Canada
Canada's largest airline is having a sale on flights to or from Vancouver and select destinations within Canada, in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and all of its destinations in Asia-Pacific for travel until Oct. 26.
Some hot ticket offers out of Vancouver include Tokyo in Japan, Montreal, and Maui in Hawaii.
The sale applies to Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy tickets and no promotion code is required to get the deals. However, it does not apply to codeshare flights (ones that are not wholly operated by Air Canada).
Tickets must be booked by Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 8:59 p.m.
WestJet
WestJet is having a Valentine's Day sale that includes fares out of Vancouver starting at only $199 and flights out of other Canadian cities starting at $149.
The company says it has slashed prices on 85,000 flights across its network, including some of its favourite sun destinations. Some enticing Vancouver-based offers include flights to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos for $199, as well as Cancun for $249.
The sale applies to Basic, Econo, Premium, and Business classes and there are no blackout dates.
The sale is valid on travel between Feb. 14 and Oct. 26 and tickets must be booked by Feb. 14 at 11:59 p.m.
Lynx Air
Upcoming budget carrier Lynx Air says "Love is in the Air" this Valentine's Day and it's offering 30 per cent off the price of flights for tickets across its network.
The sale is valid on travel between Feb. 25 and Oct. 26 but the following blackout dates apply: March 27 to April 2, May 16 to 22, June 27 to July 3, Aug 29 to Sept. 4, and Oct 10 to 16.
One of Lynx's best offers from YVR is the flight to Orlando, which starts at a jaw-dropping $109 on select dates.
Tickets must be booked by Feb. 14 at 10:59 p.m. using the promotional code: LOVE.
Porter
Porter's "Sweetheart Deal" includes savings on several popular destinations across Canada from Vancouver, including Montreal for $207, Ottawa for $222, Toronto for $239, Halifax for $297, and St.Johns for $328.
The sale is applicable to travel until June 27 but the following blackout dates apply: March 8 to 10, from March 15 to 17, March 29 to April 1, and from May 16 to 21.
Tickets must be booked by Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 8:59 p.m.
Flair
Flair hasn't stated that it's holding an official Valentine's Day sale but says that "Love is a Big Deal" and lists several deals on its website.
YVR flights start for as little as $18 (headed to Kelowna), making the ultra-low-cost carrier's offers the best (in terms of pricing) for lovebirds looking to take flight.
