Canada's two largest airlines are holding massive sales to kick off the start of March.
Air Canada and WestJet are both offering low-cost tickets to hundreds of destinations worldwide for travel continuing unit New Year's Eve 2024.
Until March 8, travellers flying in and out of Vancouver's YVR airport can take advantage of discounts on everything from short domestic trips to ones to the other side of the world and everything in between.
Air Canada
Air Canada's sale applies to select destinations within Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and all of the carrier's destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.
The discounts apply to travel taking place between March 1 and Dec. 31, 2024, and tickets must be booked by 9:59 p.m. on March 8.
Some low-cost options from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) include a one-way flight to Yellowknife for $213 on June 1 and a one-way flight to Maui, Hawaii for $207 on April 21 (see second and third slides).
Travellers looking to fly to Asia can enjoy flights from YVR to Hong Kong starting at $1,480, to Seoul for $1,530, Singapore for $1,433, and Tokyo, Japan for $1,077 (see fourth and fifth slides).
Tickets to Sydney, Australia start at $1,549, too.
WestJet
WestJet is also offering a huge sale, with savings on 7,000,000 seats to anywhere the airline flies.
The discounts apply to travel that takes place between March 1 and Dec. 31 and tickets must be booked by 10:59 p.m. on March 8.
The sale applies to all booking classes but is only applicable to wholly WestJet-operated flights, which means codeshare trips (another airline booked on a segment of the ticket) are not eligible.
WestJet is also offer discounts on its vacation packages as part of its birthday sale. Travellers can save up to $675 on select hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean with a minimum night stay.
The sale is applicable for travel between March 11 and Dec. 31. A limited number of rooms will be available and the sale officially ends at 10:59 p.m. on March 8.
