One of Canada's largest airlines has resumed seasonal service to the happiest place on earth (well, one of them).
The first WestJet flight from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) departed Saturday (Nov. 12) and will continue through the winter and into the new year.
The restarted route is part of the carrier's return of 17 sun destinations that it had suspended during the pandemic and is part of a 45 per cent increase in leisure flights since winter 2021.
WestJet will only operate the direct Vancouver to Orlando service on Saturdays, departing on a 9:30 a.m. flight from YVR and returning from MCO on a 7:30 p.m. flight.
Prices for the direct service are still very low, with prices for return trips departing this month starting at roughly $486 including all taxes and fees. Due to its limited availability, however, these prices will increase as the convenient option's lower fare classes book up.
WestJet will also commence a direct service between Vancouver and a top B.C. destination in the new year.
It's always a good idea to book your hotel well in advance of travel, particularly if you plan on going to this popular destination. Cheap options sell out fast, as well as more convenient ones.
Walt Disney World Resort is a sprawling attraction and, depending on where you stay, you'll be afforded extra amenities and inclusions, such as priority theme park entry and extended evening hours. In other words, you'll get to maximize your time at the park. Of course, you are paying a premium to stay at Disney, so you'll have to determine if it makes sense for your budget.
