A pair of stunning Vancouver accommodations have just been included in a roundup of the world's best hotels.
Travel + Leisure Magazine has just released its list of the top 500 hotels around the world as voted by readers in its annual World’s Best Awards survey.
The directory is divided into eight geographic regions: Africa and the Middle East; Asia; Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific; Canada; the Caribbean; Europe; Mexico, Central America, and South America; and the United States.
This year, 10 Canadian proprieties landed on the coveted list, including five hotels in British Columbia.
The Rosewood Hotel Georgia Vancouver, a five-star, luxury accommodation located in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, was one of the two local selections. The stunning hotel has made several appearances on the list, lauded for its attentive staff, luxurious spa, and high-end restaurant, Hawksworth.
The posh property also offers one of the most historic stays in the city, combing the "grandeur of the roaring twenties" with contemporary flair.
Another historic hotel, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, was the other Vancouver selection. Known as the "Castle in the City," the elegant hotel has been welcoming guests in the heart of the downtown core since 1939.
The Fairmont was also included in Travel + Leisure's top 10 best hotels in Canada in 2022.
Three other B.C. hotels landed on the list, including a couple of other Fairmont properties: Fairmont Chateau Whistler and the Fairmont Empress Victoria. The Magnolia Hotel & Spa was the second selection in Victoria.
Four Quebec hotels made the list, including two Montreal properties: the Hôtel Place d’Armes and The Ritz-Carlton Montreal. The Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City and the Manoir Hovey in North Hatley rounded out the Quebec picks.
Another Fairmont property, the Fairmont Royal York Toronto, was the only hotel in Ontario to make the list.
