Stanley Park, the sprawling 400-hectare oasis, is considered one of the best urban parks in the world, with over 500,000 trees and a breathtaking seawall -- the world's longest uninterrupted waterfront path.
Hotel Chain Premier Inn analyzed 34,190 TripAdvisor reviews to reveal the spring sights people around the world are raving most about, including a separate list with the top spots in the Great White North.
While New York's Central Park was named the "top place" to visit in spring, with 2,337 TripAdvisor mentions, Stanley Park is about one-fifth larger, with the Big Apple green spreading across 340 hectares.
The Butchart Gardens in Central Saanich claimed the top spot in Canada to enjoy spring, with 679 mentions on TripAdvisor. It was also ranked the seventh-best place in the world to enjoy the blossoming season.
The results revealed that the United States is the best country to visit for a spring trip, with eight American locations making the top 15 ‘spring sights’ global list.
Metro Vancouver weather boasts lush green conditions in Stanley Park
Stanley Park followed the Butchart Gardens in second, with the Montreal Botanical Garden placing third in the Great White North. Toronto's High Park came fourth, with another Vancouver Island green space, Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, rounding out the top five.
While Butchart Gardens was the only Canadian selection to rank among the top of the "world's best sights," a couple of other destinations outside of the U.S. made the top 10.
Keukenhof, a botanical garden located in Lisse in the Netherlands, placed fourth overall, while Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth, Australia, ranked seventh. Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, France, rounded out the top 10 list.
