WestJet has launched a new service from Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale, Florida starting in the fall.
The airline has added a once-weekly service from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) operating from Nov. 3, 2024 through April 20, 2025.
Direct, one-way flights start at $232 (see slide two) while round-trip options start at $410 (see slide three).
WestJet will also provide a once-weekly service to Fort Lauderdale from Winnipeg, Manitoba from Nov. 18 through April 21, 2025.
Additionally, the airline will launch a once-weekly service from Kelowna to Mazatlán and Winnipeg to Los Cabos this winter.
"Our strategy to establish the WestJet Group as Canada's western leader and national leisure champion is working, as we continue to offer the most robust and affordable coast-to-coast schedule, fine-tuned to meet the needs of Canadian travellers," said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, in a press release.
Weatherill noted that the WestJet Group will offer Canadian travellers "more seat capacity than any other airline to sun destinations this winter."
Calgary and Toronto will enjoy a once-weekly service to Tulum, Mexico in the fall. Torontonians will also have a new route to Grenada in the Caribbean.
WestJet Vacations will also offer hotel and flight packages to 35 major hotels in Tulum, Mexico.
