Canada Post’s sorting plant near YVR was evacuated briefly on Thursday morning after a suspicious package was found.
According to CTV, Richmond RCMP officers were dispatched to the plant on Sea Island, but declared the scene safe within a couple hours.
The police’s Explosives Disposal Unit assisted with the call, according to police.
In June of this year, two people were taken to hospital after being exposed to an unknown substance at the same facility.
According to fire-rescue, a package was discovered broken and a powder had spilled out, causing the pair of workers to have breathing problems and elevated heart rates.
They were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, according to a statement from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
