Update: As of 10:20 a.m. power was restored to affected areas.

More than 60,000 customers in Vancouver are without power due to several BC Hydro outages, according to the Crown company’s website.

Outages are currently impacting areas of Kitsilano, Arbutus, Shaughnessy, Kerrisdale, Dunbar, and Mount Pleasant.

They are the result of a wide-reaching "transmission circuit failure" Wednesday morning, the website states.

Areas without power span from False Creek to South West Marine Drive and Main Street to Dunbar.

As of 9:30 a.m. crews were said to be working to rectify the situation.
