Thousands of people are without power on Friday, Jan. 10 across British Columbia due to a powerful windstorm that is hitting the South Coast.

Strong southeasterly winds of 70 km/h gusting 90 km/h near the water developed over the morning, but are expected to drop below warning later this afternoon.
