Vancouverites took to social media to share images and videos of the first snowfall of 2020 in the city on Friday morning.
While the city is stunning year-round, snow is a rare sight to behold in the Lower Mainland. After it starting falling in the wee hours of Friday morning, a few centimetres of snowfall accummulated in Vancouver by noon.
The snowfall warning has ended, but the forecast calls for the chance of snow again this weekend. More snow is possible this weekend as a series of weather systems embedded in a cool northwest flow from the Gulf of Alaska moves ashore. What's more, early next week, very cold arctic air from the B.C. Interior will arrive on the South Coast.
Have a look at some of Metro Vancouver's spectacular frosty sights.
