Vancouver's Arts Umbrella has unveiled its massive new home in the heart of Granville Island.
The all-purpose centre, called The New Limitless, opens Saturday with COVID-19 protocols in place.
It's a sprawling 50,000 square-foot facility, dedicated to children and youth arts education.
The building more than triples Arts Umbrella’s previous space; within three to five years it is expected to welcome 15,000 young people annually.
"We employ 250 instructors and staff and we're the second-largest employer of artists in the province; recognizing those strong ties and seeing this organization have this opportunity, it is something we are extremely grateful for," explains Arts Umbrella president Paul Larocque.
Every year, Arts Umbrella reaches more than 24,000 youth, with over 80% served through bursaries, scholarships, and donor-funded programs.
