Four people have been taken to hospital following a major crash that has shut down a busy Burnaby intersection.
Burnaby RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Kalanj said police responded to a crash at Lougheed Highway and Production Way at roughly 12:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
It was reported that the crash involved a pedestrian and four vehicles.
Kalanj said three vehicle occupants were taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
A pedestrian, also taken to hospital, is believed to be in serious condition.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area, with Kalanj saying the intersection will likely be closed into the evening hours.
